The calibration of the camera is already set from factory. The scanner is ready to scan but It can also be easily improved at home by adjusting it once with a calibration object that is also supplied.
STURDY HARDWARE → DURABILITY
The hardware structure is made up of manual bending aluminum pieces with precise laser-cut self-referenced nodes. It can be mounted and dismantled infinite times. Unlike structures made up of 3D printed pieces, aluminum maintains the steadiness.
SUBPIXEL PRECISION → HIGH QUALITY
The algorithm used allows the 3D scanner to obtain subpixel precision, arriving to distinguish shapes less than 0.05 millimeters.
The scanner only uses consumer technology: two lasers modules and a usb color camera, an Arduino microcontroller, a turntable, a small stepper motor with its driver and two usb cables.
Scan the color of your objects with no special lights. RGB colors from each captured point are obtained.
The tecnhology used allows both llinear and circular scan axis and the triangulation sensors can be used in other structures different from the one provided. The design of the aluminum hardware also allows the assembly of your own lasers, camera, etc… Elements which can be easily be purchased at low costs.
